BASIC MEDICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT FOR DAIRY GOATS

Basic Meds Information
This section closed on May 1st 2004

I’m a strong believer and have always been adamant that continuous hands-on experience is a must if one is going to offer even anecdotal thoughts on the care of our beloved caprine friends.  The last few years have brought changes in my life circumstances that put me in a position where I no longer have what I feel is adequate hand-on experience to pass along as advice.  While I still have a tremendous amount of second-hand anecdotal and professional input and feedback, I don’t feel these compensate for actual first hand trial and observation.  So unfortunately I no longer feel comfortable updating or maintaining many sections of this "Basic Meds for Goats" site.

Update to the above:
The response to the demise of the Basic Meds pages was  overwhelming.  To those of you that  have written without getting a response from me, I apologize, I am working my way through those emails and will try to write each of you personally. I appreciate that so many took the time to write.

The pages were always dedicated to the newer goat owners, those most likely to need the basic information they contained. Over the years the information became more than ‘basic’  but I tried to get the basics there first for those just starting out.  The response to the pages no longer being available presented me with a real dilemma ….  I’m trying, even now, to decide what to do. Perhaps I can rework some of the 'timeless'  information  into something more basic.  I will try.  In the meantime, I’m glad that so many of you found the information useful, I greatly appreciate those that appreciated the information and work involved, and, I apologize for any inconvenience and distress my decision has caused.

Check back once in awhile for possible changes. Feel free to email if you have questions, but I can't guarantee a timely response.

For now the rest of the Saanendoah website will remain intact.

September 2004 -  I'm hoping to have at least some of the Basic Meds pages back online by November or December. I was also hoping to convert some of the information to a PDF format though that is proving to be a more ambitious task than I imagined.

NOTE: Over the years the pages became linked to so many sub-pages that I’m not going to be able to track them all down for awhile. From time to time you may still run across some of the linked pages of information on the internet, I aplogize for these rements.

"Come on, let's go...."
